(1951). George Emlyn Williams (1905-1987) was a distinguished Welsh playwright
(Night Must Fall, 1936; The Corn is Green, 1942), screenwriter (The Man Who Knew
Too Much, 1934) and film and stage actor (who won a Tony for A Boy Growing Up,
1958). In addition to plays, he penned a novel, two autobiographies and a controversial true
crime study, Beyond Belief (1967). In The Scarf Williams plays a psychiatrist helping an
escaped convict recover his memory to learn if he really committed the murder for which he was
convicted. Lightly creased. Lightly worn. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise,
fine condition.
