First Day Cover bearing 20-cent Harry S Truman stamp, postmarked Washington, D.C, January 26, 1984, first day of issue. Saluting the 100th anniversary of the birth of President Truman who ordered the dropping of the Atomic Bomb, hastening the end of WWII. TIBBETS was the pilot, Beser was the radar counter measures observer, Caron was the tail gunner, Nelson was the radio operator and Ferebee was the bombardier of the Enola Gay, the B-29 that dropped the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, August 6, 1945. Fine condition.
