ERIC BOGOSIAN
Signed b/w movie still from 1988s' Talk Radio of Eric Bogosian, as doomed radio host Barry Champlain, in headphones, sitting in front of a microphone and with a cigarette burning in one hand. This movie was based on a play by Bogosian, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
Photograph signed "Eric Bogosian" in blue ink. B/w, 10x7¾ overall, 9 ¼ x 6 ¼ image, one surface. Cineplex Odeon Films movie still from Talk Radio (1988). Photo by Joyce Rudolph. ©1988 Cineplex Odeon Films. Talk Radio was inspired by the murder of radio commentator Alan Berg. Bogosian wrote the screenplay and starred Barry Champlain, a radio talk show host with a lot to say and a love/hate relationship with his viewers, including one that he pushes too far. The movie was based on Bogosian's one-man play, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. Bogosian, born in Woburn, Massachusetts in 1953, got his start by putting on one-man shows in the 1970s and 1980s in New York, which gained fame for their minimalism and their blend of dark comedy, social realism and political commentary. Bogosian made the jump to the silver screen in 1983 in the movie Born in Flames, the first of almost 50 movies and TV shows to his credit. He has had recurring roles on two TV series: as Phil on Love Monkey and as Captain Danny Ross on Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2006-2008). Bogosian is also a screenwright and playwright, whose adapted three of his plays into movies - Talk Radio (1988), Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll (1991) and SubUrbia (1996). His play Talk Radio was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1988. Lightly toned, creased and bowed. Lightly dented near lower right corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
