1970 July 16. To George [radio host George Sanders]. In full:
"This was an experience. This was a wonderful human moment for which I thank
you." Color cut-out of Segal's best-selling book, Love Story, affixed
at lower margin. Author ERICH SEGAL (1937-2010) is best known for his
1970 novel, Love Story, which sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
Ironically, the book was published after he had written the screenplay for
the film of the same name. The film version, released in 1970, was
nominated for seven Academy Awards, including a Best Original
Screenplay nomination for Segal, who took home the Golden Globe for
Best Screenplay. Love Story won the Oscar for Best Original Score
and was the top grossing film of the year. His other works include
Oliver's Story, the 1978 sequel to Love Story, and Man, Woman
and Child, and Segal was also a screenwriter on the animated film, Yellow
Submarine (1968), The Games (1970), R.P.M. (1970) and A
Change of Seasons (1980). Slightly creased. Irregular left edge from removal
from bound book. Fine condition.
