Captioned: "Ernie Ashworth". Ashworth, (1928-2009, born in Huntsville, Alabama) is a country singer and songwriter who got his start on Huntsville's WBHP radio in 1948 before moving to Nashville, Tennessee and writing songs for stars like Little Jimmy Dickens and Carl Smith through the Acuff-Rose publishing house. Ashworth was signed to MGM in 1955 and, after signing to Decca in 1960, put his first single on the Billboard Country Singles charts with Every Moment (Spent With You), which peaked at No. 4 that year. In all, Ashworth put seven singles in the country Top 10 between 1960 and 1965, including the 1963 chart-topper Talk Back Trembling Lips. He also began performing on the Grand Ole Opry in 1964. Lightly toned, creased and bowed. Light scratches on image (not visible head-on). Otherwise in fine condition.
