ERNEST DIMNET The author wrote this letter to a friend, saying that he only just recently discovered her letter addressed to him, and saying that "all that happens to you touches me" Autograph letter signed: "Ernest Dimnet", in black ink, 5¼x7 (front and verso). Accompanied by original mailing envelope. December 11, 1926. New York City, New York. In part: "My dear friend, I found your letter at Ms. Norton's, what a charming surprise But how [illegible] it all is. Think of you being on that same ship; I am glad you enjoyed your [illegible] so much and Dr. Wainwright is rested and was interested. All that happens to you touches me". Ernest Dimnet (1866-1954) was a French cleric, author, and philosopher. His best known work, The Art of Thinking (1930), purportedly improves the reader's concentration by following a few simple practices. Dimnet is also well regarded for his popular French translations of English books written by Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Bronte. Multiple folds. Slight creases. Lightly toned. Corners slightly worn and creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
