all my friends invite me and where I can't ever go./ For me, I was happily in my little old country
house that I like because I was raised there by four women who adored me./ I hope that Professor
Davies gave you a satisfactory response, for the 20th is a Friday; so, I have my class in New York in
the morning, and I'm spending the night at another engagement in Waterbury, N. Y . I set sail
for Rochambeau, [sic] October the10th. From the 19th onwards my address will be: Mrs. Charles
D. Norton, 635 Park Avenue, New York./ Two months from today . I'm already hating my
return to Scranton. Give my best to your husband. My most sympathetic sentiments,". Ernest
