Inscribed photograph signed "To Chuck & Pam/Happy Parenthood/Esther/Rolle". B/w, 6¾x9 overall, 6½x8½ image, one surface. With 8½x6 sheet of publicity from CBS, dated July 31, 1978, affixed to verso, in part: "Esther Rolle returns in the starring role of Florida Evans Dixon in 'Good Times,' which begins its sixth season this fall, for broadcast on Wednesdays (8:30-9:00 PM, ET on the CBD Television Network.". Rolle (1920-1998, born in Pompano Beach, Florida) is probably best known for her role as Florida Evans in two TV shows, playing Florida as a maid in Maude (1972-1974) and as the formidable matron of the Evans clan in Good Times (1974-1979). A stage actress since 1962, Rolle has almost forty TV and movie shows to her credit between 1964 and 1998, including a posthumous role in Train Ride (2000), as well as two Broadway shows, and she was often cast during her early career in plays produced by Robert Hooks and New York City's Negro Ensemble Company. Lightly toned, soiled and bowed. Publicity sheet is lightly toned and creased. Sheet is perforated and folded at perforation. Otherwise in fine condition.
