The French boxer, who never won a professional fight, penned a note in French on his 5x5½ image, but did not sign it.
Autograph Note on Photograph, unsigned. B/w, 5x5½ In French, translated: "Receive a souvenir of my bout for the championship of France in 1933. Very amicably and with all good wishes". Ink caption affixed (unknown hand): "Eugene Lorenzoni/fought for French Bantam, 1933." French boxer Eugene Lorenzoni fought for the French bantamweight crown in Rouen on April 4, 1933, but lost by decision to Eugene Huat. He fought two draws in the following year, and then lost his next seven matches before retiring in January 1939. He never fought outside of France, and he never won a professional fight. Toned around edges. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
