Photograph signed: "Eugenia Zareska/Manchester/25th March 1953". B/w, 6x8½. Polish-born opera and concert mezzo-soprano Eugenia Zareska (1910-1979) debuted at Milan's La Scala in 1941. After World War II she performed on major opera stages throughout Europe. Prominent roles included Maria in Boris Godunov and Rosina in The Barber of Seville. She was also a prominent lieder singer. Signature light but legible. Ink stamp and note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
