Contract Signed: “Eunice Healy” in black ink, 3 pages, 8½x11. New York City, New York,
October 2, 1935. Contract for dancer, singer and actress Eunice Healy to make a
photographic test and to be employed by RKO Studies, Inc. The wage $250 per week for a
period of six months, $300 per week for a period of six months, $450 per week during the
first year, $600 per week during the second year, $750 per week during the third year and
$900 per week during the fourth year. Also signed: “G Muchnie” as Assistant Secretary.
Eunice Healy (1913-2012) was born in Richmond, California and started her professional
dancing career in New York City at the age of 13, starring in eight major Broadway musicals
including the original 1930 “Girl Crazy”. She had a film contract with Warner Brothers
beginning in 1939. Eunice traveled the world as a dancer, singer and actress who
maintained worldwide friendships and later became a theatrical producer. Eunice Healy
died in Manhattan on October 30 at the age of 99 and was survived by the love of her life
David D. Gilbert. Slightly toned and creased. Stamp on third page. Otherwise, fine
