EVA PERÓN
8x11 color photo, signed on the 12x16 mount as First Lady, inscribed to an Austrian scientist conducting nuclear research in Argentina
Large Photograph Mount inscribed and signed: "For Doctor Ronald Richter/with best wishes/Eva Perón/6-4-50 H.S.Y.S.48" in Spanish as First Lady of Argentina. Color, 12½x16½ overall, image 8½x11 (two surfaces). In 1949, Austrian scientist DR. RONALD RICHTER chose Argentina's Huemul Island to build his research laboratories for controlled nuclear fusion. This research was the first western world project relating to nuclear fusion and was sponsored by President Perón. The "Huemul atomic project" came to an end in 1952. De facto Minister of Health and Labor, EVA PERÓN, the wife of the Argentine President, organized female workers, secured woman suffrage and instituted welfare programs. "Evita" was revered by the lower classes. She was 33 when she died of cancer in 1952. Mount is creased, worn, soiled and shows several small surface nicks, all do not affect inscription or signature. Its left and right borders show horizontal tears and stains which do not touch image. Image shows light horizontal mid-fold.
