A rare signature on a 4x5¾ photograph of the German actress
Photograph signed (translated): "Cordially/Eva Katarina
Schultz", in blue ink, B/w 4x5¾. Eva Katharina Schultz (1922-2007)
was a German actress, primarily popular on the stage. Shcultz performed at both
the Burgtheater and Konzerthaus Berlin for several years, with her first role
being in the German comedy Minna von Barnhelm. She also appeared
in the play Happy Days, directed by author Samuel Beckett.
Although she made a number of small film and television appearances, Schultz was
better known for her work as a voice actress, voicing the German translations of
several actresses including Anne Bancroft (The Hindenburg), Bette
Davis (The Letter), Ava Gardner (The Bible), and
Janet Leigh (The Manchurian Candidate). Corners and edges lightly
worn. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Ink stamps. Otherwise, fine
condition.
