Pencil note by the actress best remembered for her serial, The
Perils of Pauline
Autograph Note signed in pencil: "To Paula/Sincerely/Evalyn
Knapp", 3¾x5½. Actress Evalyn Knapp (1906-1981) made her film debut
in the short silent At the Dentists (1929), and was a WAMPAS Baby Star of
1932. She starred opposite Preston Foster in Corruption (1933) and
with Ken Maynard in In Old Santa Fe (1934). But Knapp may be best
remembered as the title heroine of the 12-part Universal serial The Perils of
Pauline (1933). She made only small film appearances after her 1934
marriage. Her brother was bandleader Orville Knapp (1904-1936), with whom she
had performed in a vaudeville act. Toned. Fine condition.
