Inscribed photograph signed: "To Vernon-/This was when I was/"Riding High" in the "B" Westerns./Best Wishes/Always!/Evelyn Finley", in black ink, B/w 8x10. Actress and stuntwoman Evelyn Finley (1916-1989) made her film debut in 1940 in Arizona Frontier, and she would appear in several Westerns through 1956 (Perils of the Wilderness). She was a fine rider, much better than some of her male co-stars. Finley had begun her career as a stuntwoman (The Texas Rangers, 1936), and worked in that capacity through 1955, when she made Blood Alley. She returned to films as a stuntwoman in Swiss Family Robinson (1960), Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964) and as a senior citizen in Silverado (1985)! Finley was also billed as Eve Anderson. Fine condition.
