Handwritten notes on opposite sides of an album leaf, each with a small newspaper photo attached.
Autograph Notes signed: "To Louie -/Best wishes/Evelyn Keyes" and, on verso, "To Louie/best/Mark Stevens", 5¾x3¾ album leaf with b/w newspaper photograph attached at lower margin. After playing passive roles under Cecil B. DeMille, Evelyn Keyes (1919-2008)received her best opportunity outside of the DeMille fold when she was cast as the eternally jilted Suellen O'Hara in the 1939 blockbuster, Gone With the Wind. Some of her other notable works include Face Behind the Mask (1941), Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941) and 1947's Mating of Millie. Keyes, whose four husbands included Charles Vidor (1943-1945), John Huston (1946-1950) and Artie Shaw (1957-1985), was the companion of Michael Todd from 1953-1956. Multitalented actor, singer, producer and author MARK STEVENS (circa 1916-1994), born Richard William Stevens, sang and appeared on stage in Canada before signing with Warner Bros. in Hollywood. Cast as a leading man in such films as Within These Walls (1945), The Dark Corner (1946) and The Street With No Name (1948), Stevens also appeared in several musicals, including I Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now (1947) and Oh, You Beautiful Doll (1949). With the advent of television, Stevens starred in two TV series, Martin Kane, Private Eye (1953-1954) and Big Town (1954-1956). He also started a successful production company, Mark Stevens Television, Inc., as well as Mark Stevens Music. In the late 1950s, Stevens moved to Europe, where he opened a restaurant in Spain and wrote several novels. Stevens, who was once romantically involved with actress Hedy Lamarr, later returned to TV in guest-starring roles. Lightly creased. Binding holes at left edge. Overall, fine condition.
