31st December has just reached me from the publishers of the British Bridge
World. You should have received a copy of Bridge Magazine unless your
subscription to the British Bridge World expired with the December issue. A
letter was sent to every subscriber explaining that we were incorporating the
British Bridge World in Bridge Magazine (which is the oldest magazine on bridge
in the world). If your subscription did not expire with the December issue and
you have not yet had the January issue of Bridge Magazine, please let me know.
Yours sincerely". Ewart Kempson (1895-1966), a captain in
Britain's Indian Army, was among the world's foremost auction bridge

several books, including Contract Bridge: How to Play It (1957), and
books of bridge problems. Some of the modern bidding conventions originated
with Kempson. Creased. Adhesive residue on verso. Fine
