One of the most vibrant comic personalities of the 1970s and '80s, as well as a noted actor and screenwriter, DAN AYKROYD (b. 1952) got his professional start in his native Canada. During this time he met comedian and writer John Belushi, and in 1975, both were chosen to appear in the first season of Canadian producer Lorne Michaels' innovative comedy television series Saturday Night Live. It was as part of this show that Aykroyd gained notoriety. His film work includes The Blues Brothers (1980),Trading Places (1983), Ghostbusters (1984), Dragnet (1987), Driving Miss Daisy (1989 - Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor), My Girl (1991) and Grosse Point Blank (1997). ROSIE O'DONNELL (b. 1962) swept the nation in the 1990's with her talk show The Rosie O'Donnell Show, airing from 1996 to 2002 with 11 Daytime Emmy Wins. Dubbed "The Queen of Nice", O'Donnell followed closely behind Oprah in daytime talk ratings, making a name for herself as a philanthropist. In 2002, the talk show host and comedian came out as a lesbian in order to bring attention to gay adoption issues, and has since continued to fight for gay rights for parents. In recent years, O'Donnell has passed through several talk shows and radio programs, most recently becoming a moderator on The View but leaving soon after due to her strong opinions clashing with fellow moderators. Corners slightly worn. Fine condition.
