Typed Letter Signed: “F.W. Hodgson” 1p, 8x10. London, March 18, 1972. On News of the World letterhead and sent from the Editorial Department. Addressed to “Mr. E.A. Thompson/Program Advisor,/ Nebraska Union”. Written to “Dear Mr. Thompson”. In full: “Thank you for your letter of February 8, which I received three days ago having been delayed at some point. I am most grateful for your information which will be of use in my lecture tour in the Mid-West in October, and I have written to your Union chairman, Doug Voegler, to discuss a date for a lecture under the Union program at Lincoln, which I hope would take place around the 10th to 12th October. I shall write, as you suggest, to Mr. Chester A. Berry at Stanford. Thank you again and maybe I shall see you at Lincoln./ Yours sincerely”. In addition to working for News of the World, F.W. Hodgson published several books, most of them pertaining to the editorial process. A few of his titles include New Subediting: For Quark Users, The Media Reporter, and Journalism Workbook: A Manual of Tasks, Projects and Resources. Lightly toned. Three stains from tape remnants. Corners and edges gently worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
