copy of her book The Juniper Tree.
Autograph Letter signed: "Faith B", 1 page, 5¾x7½, front and
verso. Norwalk, Connecticut, February 26, no year. On her personal
letterhead to "Dear Jackie/Jakie? with note in upper left: "Sorry.
Guess it was Jackie - like Mrs O.!" In full: "I'm so sorry The
Juniper Tree is long out of print. They never keep me in print long. Time and
Its Hour which was about 5 or 6 books ago is out of print and probably others I
think of as new. Tag sales, library sales, out of print book shops. That's where
it (or any!) can be found. If you find one, don't send it, I hate wrapping
books. Just tell me & I'll send you a bookplate! It's 68 degrees here! The
Juniper tree isn't in paper back. I checked ones I have - (Warner). I wish
they'd buy it and [illegible]. The one copy I have is the original (&
it's bound) and an English edition. All the best." American author Faith
Baldwin (1893-1978) wrote more than 85 books, including over 60 novels,
mostly light fiction for female audiences. Her popularity peaked during the
Depression, when many of her works appeared in serial and movie form. Many of
her books remain in print today. Irregular top edge. Slightly creased. Pinhead
sized spot on front lower right. Stray ink mark on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
