Typed Letter signed: "Faith Baldwin", 2 pages, 4¼x5½.
Norwalk, Connecticut, no date. On "Memo from the Desk of... Faith Baldwin"
letterhead and written to "Dear JF", in full: "just a hasty
line as I am so behind in work. The incredible year is a very very old book and
I have just about forgotten it. My favorite is the one pub last Feb. the whole
Armor and the very very hard one I am trying to write now.. I thought you knew
that the childrens (sic) father and I had been separated for 23 years,
not divorced, and I am on the phone much of the time.. regards to you and
yours" with handwritten corrections, adding her address and "it was a
magazine serial" on page 1. Faith Baldwin (1893-1978) wrote more
than 85 books, including over 60 novels, mostly light fiction for female
audiences. Her popularity peaked during the Depression, when many of her
works appeared in serial and movie form. She wrote a column for Woman's Day
magazine, and hosted a radio and later TV program, Faith Baldwin Romance
Theatre. Normal mailing folds. Lightly creased.
