FERGUSON JENKINS, DAVE CASH and BOB HORNER
Three baseball greats sign a baseball in blue ink.
Baseball signed: "Fergie Jenkins", "Dave Cash" and "Bob Horner". Bobby Brown Official American League Baseball. In 19 Major League seasons (1965-1983), right-handed starting pitcher JENKINS won 284 games, including 6 consecutive seasons with the Chicago Cubs in which he won 20 or more games while striking out 200 or more. National League Cy Young winner in 1971, he led the league in wins twice, made the All-Star team twice, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1991. The articulate CASH was an underrated second baseman who hit .300 four times. His lifetime .984 fielding average is the NL record for second basemen. Cash not only played every day, he played well, making the All-Star team each year. He hit .300 in 1974, scored 89 runs, stole 20 bases, and drove in a career-high 58; in 1975 he upped his BA to .305 while leading the league with 213 hits, finishing second in the NL with 40 doubles and a career-high 111 runs. Playing for the Braves, HORNER hit a home run in his first major league game, and won Rookie of the Year honors. A steady home run hitter, Horner fought weight and injury problems. Slow, with poor range, he moved from third to first in 1985. A dead-pull streak hitter and slow starter, Horner played for the Yakult Swallows of Japan in 1987 after playing out his option with the Braves. He was signed by the Cardinals in 1988 to replace their departed slugger. Horner tied a major league record with a four-home run-game in 1986. Slightly yellowed. Overall, fine condition.
