Lobby Card signed: "Fess Parker". Color, 14x11. Promoting the 1966 film, Smoky, which starred Parker as Clint. ©1966, Twientieth Century-Fox Film Corp. The film also starred Diana Hyland and Katy Jurado and introduced Hoyt Axton, who was billed as "America's new Country and Western singing sensation!" At the time he made this film, Parker (1924-2010) was starring in his successful TV series, Daniel Boone (1964-1970). He was also seen on the small screen that year on The London Palladium Show. Actor Fess Parker is best known for his TV and screen incarnations of pioneer heroes Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone. Walt Disney cast him as Davy Crockett in a series of phenomenally successful TV specials, including the 1955 television film, Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier, which featured the hit song, "The Ballad of Davy Crockett". Parker also appeared in other Disney films, including Westward Ho, the Wagons!, Old Yeller and The Light in the Forest. He later made a fortune in real estate after a waging a lengthy legal battle against the producers of Daniel Boone, whom Parker accused of reneging on their "percentage of profits" arrangement. Lightly creased and soiled. Staple holes at corners and upper mid-margin, ½-inch tear at one staple nicks the "P" and "k" of Parker. Marker and pencil notes (unknown hand) and tape remnant on verso, light show through of market note at upper right background. Overall, fine condition.
