I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts with me. Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to respond personally to all the mail I receive, but I send my warm, best wishes. Sincerely" Betty Ford, born Elizabeth Bloomer (1918-2011), a former dancer and dance teacher, married her husband during his 1948 campaign for Congress and spent nearly 25 years as a Congressional wife and then wife of a Vice President before becoming First Lady (1974-1977). Betty Ford expressed her views freely while in the White House, including candid discussion of her own mastectomy. After successfully battling her own chemical dependency, Mrs. Ford established the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California, to treat others afflicted with this problem. She has written three books, including an autobiography. Bottom right corner slightly worn. Fine condition.
