FRANCES F. CLEVELAND. Executive Mansion Card signed: "Frances F. Cleveland" as First Lady, 4½x2¾. The Executive Mansion card was introduced by President Grant late in his administration (c. 1876). "Executive Mansion" was changed to "White House" in October 1901 by Theodore Roosevelt and shortly thereafter to "The White House". On June 2, 1886, 49-year-old bachelor President Grover Cleveland married his 21-year-old ward, Frances Folsom, in the White House. Lightly soiled. 6 pinhead-size stains at upper blank area.
