After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southern Methodist University in 1968, LAURA BUSH, born Laura Lane Welch in Midland, Texas in 1946, taught in public schools in Dallas and Houston. In 1973, she earned a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a public school librarian in Austin. Laura Welch and George W. Bush were married in 1977. She became First Lady in 2001 when her husband was elected President of the United States. They are the parents of twin daughters Jenna and Barbara. JENNA HAGER BUSH, born in Dallas, Texas in 1981, is the daughter of President George W. Bush and the fraternal twin of Barbara Pierce Bush. Jenna had an early reputation as a hellion - she was charged with being in the possession of alcohol under the age of 21 and attempting to use a fake ID to purchase alcohol, and she made headlines when she stuck out her tongue at photographers during her father's 2004 re-election campaign. But she settled down, or at least she did as of this biography, becoming an intern for UNICEF in Latin America and a teacher. Jenna is the author of several books, including her first, 2007's Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope, about her experiences with UNICEF. She married Henry Chase Hager in 2008. Dust jacket is lightly scratched, scuffed, soiled and creased. Corners of covers are rounded. Otherwise in fine condition.
