In full: "To Students of Clute Public Schools: All best wishes during your study of modern authors. Good luck, Sincerely". Fletcher Knebel (1911-1993) was an American author known for his work in political fiction. After graduating from college, Knebel went to work for the Coatesville Record in Pennsylvania, and would spend the next 20 years working in newspapers, specializing in political columns. In 1960, Knebel contributed to the book Candidates 1960, which helped realize his passion for writing books. He would go on to write 15 books, most fiction, but all dealing with politics. Most popular of his books, Seven Days in May, was made into a film in 1964. Surface creases, esp. heavy on outer margins. Corners lightly worn and creased. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on bottom left margin. Small tear on bottom edge. Paper thin and fragile, but otherwise fine condition.
