Stand-up comedian and actor Foster Brooks (1912-2001) was a radio

1962 after opening for Perry Como at the new Las Vegas Hilton in Las Vegas).
Known as "The Loveable Lush", Brooks is best known for his frequent
appearances on Dean Martin celebrity roasts (despite being known for playing a
drunk, Brooks became a national spokesman for Mothers Against Drunk Driving -
MADD - and did public service announcements for the organization). Brooks
was a regular on two TV series, The Real Tom Kennedy Show (1970)
and The New Bill Cosby Show (1972-1973), he lent his voice to the
animated TV series, Challenge of the GoBots (1984), and he made numerous
guest appearances on TV variety shows and series, from Gunsmoke (1962) to
Cosby (1996). His film credits include Super Seal (1976),
Cracking Up (1983), Cannonball Run II and Oddballs (both
1984) and The Giant of Thunder Mountain (1991, his last film).
