Italian, not translated, regarding musical and social matters. Sir Francesco
Paolo Tosti (1846-1916) was noted for his singing and songwriting
abilities. He wrote 360 songs, including "Mattinata", "Goodbye", "At
Vespers", "Amore" and "Serenata", setting English, French and Italian texts
to music. Born in Italy, in 1880 Tosti settled in London, where he became
singing master to the royal family. Tosti was knighted by his
friend, King Edward VII, in 1908, and returned to Italy after the King's death.
Lightly creased. Stray ink mark at blank upper left margin of first page. Light
show through of writing on signature page. Overall, fine condition.
