FRANCINE YORK
The sexy showgirl turned actress signs her name on this 3½x5½ black and white photo
Printed photograph signed in ink: "Francine/York", B/w, in black felt tip, 3½x5½. Francine
York (1938-2017) started her career at 17 years old when she won a beauty contest and moved
to San Francisco, where she began modeling. From there she became a showgirl and moved
to Hollywood where she signed with her first agent. York's heart was still with acting and
production work so she began taking acting classes in Hollywood. Her initial big break came
when Jerry Lewis cast her in his film It's Only Money. Lewis liked her so much that he cast
her in five subsequent films. She went on to appear in several films, such as: Tickle Me
(alongside Elvis Presley), Cannon For Cordoba, and her most popular film The Doll
Squad (1973). In 2000 she appeared in The Family Man as Nicolas Cage's mother-in-law.
She also did some television work and appeared in episodes of My Favorite Martian
(1963-1966), I Dream of Jeannie (1965-1970) and most recently The King of Queens
(1998-2007). Slightly bowed. Lightly creased. Bottom edge slightly worn. Otherwise, fine
condition.
