mentions the publication of his book
Typed Letter Signed: "Francis Biddle", 1p, 6x7. Washington,
D.C., 1962 January 29. On his personal stationery to Mr. A.S. Hodges, Esapy
Mercantile Company, Headland, Alabama. In full: "I return the two
autographed cards. [Not present.] You may be interested to know that
Doubleday recently published the first volume of my reminiscences under the
title of A Casual Past." Biddle was FDR's Solicitor
General (1940-1941) and Attorney General (1941-1945). From 1945-1946, he was
a U.S. judge at the trial of war criminals at Nuremberg. Lightly creased,
touching the "r" in Francis. Otherwise, fine condition.
