In full: "This certifies that I hereby sell one Bell and Howell Hot-splicer to the United Producers Releasing Organization for the Amount of one hundred dollars ($100). Serial #1374." Francis Coppola graduated with a degree in drama from Long Island's Hofstra University (1959) and did graduate work at UCLA in filmmaking. While at UCLA, during an apprenticeship with filmmaker Roger Corman, he worked as soundman, dialogue director, film editor, associate producer and, eventually, director of Dementia 13 in 1963, two years after he signed this document. Coppola has won five Academy Awards: three for Best Screenplay (Godfather, Godfather II, Patton) and one each for Best Director and Best Picture for The Godfather Part II. Lightly creased.
