Beverly Hills, California, 1957 October 18. Capra retains the William
Morris Agency as his exclusive agent for five years, beginning 1957 October 1.
An initialed (not by Capra) handwritten amendment limits this agreement to "the
motion picture industry", not "all branches of the entertainment industry" as
stated in the printed contract. Capra, born Francesco Rosario Capra in
Sicily, was the winner of three Best Director Academy Awards: It Happened One
Night (1934), Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), and You Can't Take It
With You (1938). He enjoyed total creative freedom on his sets andalso directed among others, Lost Horizon (1937), Meet John Doe
(1941), and It's A Wonderful Life (1946). He was the first Hollywood
director to have his name precede a film's title. File holes broken through
to edge, staple holes, two other holes (½x½-inch and ¼x¼-inch) at upper margin.
