The politician signs his name on a pamphlet promoting himself
Pamphlet signed: "Frank Church", in blue ink, 2 pages, 5½x8½. Idaho's Frank Church: A Biographical Sketch. Frank Forrester Church III (1924-1984) was a Democratic U.S. Senator from Idaho from 1957-1981. A veteran of WWII and an attorney, Church was one of the first U.S. Senators to publicly oppose the Vietnam War, although he had earlier supported it. In 1947, Church married Bethine Clark, the daughter of Chase A. Clark, a former Democratic Governor of Idaho. The couple had two sons. From 1979-1981, Church was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Church Committees that investigated the unconstitutionality of intelligence gathering by the CIA and FBI would come under fire in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Light surface creases. Tear on image near left margin. Corners slightly worn. Ink notes (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
