From/THAT SUMMER-THAT FALL/By/Frank D. Gilroy/Scene 1". Describing the
setting as the curtain rises. Frank D. Gilroy (1925-2015) won the 1965 Pulitzer Prize in
Drama and the 1965 Tony Award for Best Play for The Subject Was Roses. A screen writer
of the Golden Age in television, Gilroy wrote for Playhouse 90, The United States Steel Hour
and Kraft Television Theatre. He also wrote the screenplays for Texas John Slaughter (1958),
The Only Game in Town (1969) and The Luckiest Man in the World (1989). His numerous
awards include Obie Award (for Who'll Save the Plowboy?) and Silver Bear at the 21st Berlin
International Film Festival (for Desperate Characters). Fine condition.
