Autograph Letter signed: "Frank Dicksee", 1 page, 4½x7. Greville House, 3, Greville Place, Maida Vale [London], 1925 January 5. Written to "Dear Mrs. Austin", in full: "Please accept my sincere thanks for your very kind con-gratulations- & for the pleasant words that accompany them. I am very glad to receive them -With all good wishes Very sincerely" Victorian painter and illustrator Frank Dicksee (1853-1928) was known for his dramatic scenes drawn from history and legend, and also for his portrayals of fashionable women. Dicksee was President of the Royal Society (1924-1928), and was knighted in 1925. Normal mailing fold. Lightly frayed at left edge. Pencil note (unknown hand) at top left and bottom center. Otherwise, fine condition.
