FRANK FAYThe actor and comedian signs his name on this black and white 8x9¾ photo Inscribed photograph signed: "For/Willa/A confession/I'm stuck/for a gal of/news./Frank Fay". B/w, 8x9¾. Comedian and actor Frank Fay (1891-1961) had his greatest successes on the stage; he played "Elwood P. Dowd" in the Broadway version of Harvey. A popular nightclub and radio performer, he also starred in a few films, from Under the Texas Moon (1930) to Love Nest (1951). He was Barbara Stanwyck's first husband (1928-1936). Lightly creased. One-half-inch by ¾-inch nick in lower left corner. Ink stamps on verso (no show through). Otherwise, fine condition.
