FRANK FLETCHER. Christmas Card signed: "Fletcher", folded to 8x3½. Color illustration of Joseph and Mary on front. Signed inside, below a printed message. In the upper half of the inside of card, Fletcher has affixed a pen quill with clear tape and added an autograph note: "I used this pen for 20 years drawing BRINGING UP FATHER." Bringing Up Father, one of America's all-time favorite comic strips, was created by George McManus in 1913, and remained in syndication until 2000, employing a succession of artists. Frank Fletcher (b. 1919) worked on the strip, mainly for the Sunday pages, from 1965-1984. Fletcher also drew for the comic books Blondie and Daisy and Pups. Toned under clear tap attachment. Faint ½-inch stain on printed text. Otherwise, fine condition.
