The actor is shown laughing on a movie set in this 4¾x7 inch black and white photograph
Photograph signed: "Gratefully/Frank Lovejoy" in blue ink. 4¾x7. Stage, screen and television actor Frank Lovejoy (1912-1962) made his debut on Broadway in 1934. During the 1930s and 1940s, he was a popular radio actor, appearing on such programs as Gangbusters, Night Beat and Damon Runyon Theater and starring as the title character on the syndicated show, The Blue Beetle. After Lovejoy made his film debut in Black Bart in 1948, he would go on to appear in such films as The Sound of Fury (1950), Goodbye, My Fancy (1951), The Hitch-Hiker (1953), Men of the Fighting Lady (1954) and Strategic Air Command (1955). Lovejoy was also frequently seen on the small screen from 1953, when he appeared in the first of three guest-starring roles on Lux Video Theatre (he would be nominated for an Emmy Award for his appearance on "Double Indemnity", a 1954 episode of the show). In addition to appearing in guest-starring roles on other anthologies and series (including multiple appearances on Stage 7 (1955), The Star and the Story (1955-1956), Four Star Playhouse (1953-1956), Letter to Loretta (1956-1959), Zane Grey Theater (1957-1959) and The United States Steel Hour (1954, 1960), Lovejoy had two series of his own, Man Against Crime (1956) and Meet McGraw (1957-1958), and he hosted Playhouse 90 four times between 1956-1959. Toned. Slightly bowed. Corners rounded and creased. One large crease at bottom margin. Mounting residue on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
