FRANK McGEE
Extremely rare 7x9 image of the TV journalist
Photograph signed: "Frank McGee". B/w, 7x9. Radio and TV journalist Frank McGee (1915-1974) was known for reporting events like the Kennedy-Nixon debates of 1960, the assassination of President Kennedy (on the air for 45 hours with little rest), an in-depth interview with Martin Luther King, a month with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, and coverage of the national political conventions and the space program. He was a rotating anchor of the NBC Nightly News before becoming principal host of the Today show (1971-1974), on which he appeared until days before his untimely death from bone cancer. Slightly worn. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Otherwise, fine condition.
