Original 11½x7½ black ink drawing signed with "All the best" by cartoonist Frank Modell. This drawing is on the endsheet of Modell's cartoon collection Stop Trying to Cheer Me Up!, which contains 156 of his cartoons that appeared in The New Yorker between 1948 and 1978.

Published by Dodd, Mead & Company in New York. ©1978 Frank Modell, images ©The New Yorker Magazine. Hardcover with dust cover. This book includes 160 b/w cartoons by Modell, 156 of which originally appeared in The New Yorker between 1948 and 1978. Modell created cartoons for The New Yorker for 50 years (1945-1995). His work also included cartoons for Playboy and illustrations for children's books. Modell has also acted in off-Broadway plays, and had a small part in Woody Allen's film Stardust Memories (1980). Lightly toned. Covers have lightly rounded corners. Top of front cover and rear cover is lightly gouged. Dust cover has lightly rounded and worn corners, lightly worn top and bottom edges and light tears in top edge, is lightly scratched (not visible head-on) and creased on rear cover. Otherwise in fine condition.
