Productions, Inc. on an unnamed film.
Contract signed: "Frank Partos", 8 pages, 8½x13. Agreement
between Frank Partos and Samuel Goldwyn Productions, Inc. to be employed as a
writer in a 1951 film at a salary of $1,500 a week. The term of employment
commencing on April 16, 1951, and continuing until terminated. Hungarian
screenplay writer Frank Partos (1901-1956) is best known for his work on The
Snake Pit (1948), for which he earned an Oscar nomination. He began as a
staff writer for Paramount Pictures in 1930's, and later moved on to RKO
Radio Pictures in 1939. He also had a stay with MGM, but left after being
uncredited on a screenplay he helped create. Beyond his Oscar nomination,
Partos won two Writers Guild of America Awards, both for his work on The
Snake Pit. Pencil note (unknown hand). Corners and edges lightly worn.
