When performing in Las Vegas, Sinatra appeared at Caesars from 1968-1971 and again from 1974 until 1984 when he brought his act to Steve Wynn's Golden Nugget. Multitalented actor and singer FRANK SINATRA (1915-1998) is one of the most famous American performers of all time. He came into the music business in the late 1930s, establishing himself as a solo performer in 1943. His 1946 debut album The Voice of Frank Sinatra made it to #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. He released a handful of albums in the late 1940s, but they failed to do as well on the charts. Sinatra began performing in Las Vegas and became a leading member of the Rat Pack, whose key members included Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Humphrey Bogart (in the early years of the group). Throughout the 1940s, he starred in a few Bobby-Soxer films. However, his first big break on screen came in 1953's From Here to Eternity; his performance earned him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. This resurgence in popularity led to two Gold-certified music albums, In the Wee Small Hours and Songs for Swingin' Lovers!, soon after. Over the ensuing decades, Sinatra notched several more Gold albums and a few that were certified Platinum. Meanwhile, he (along with various members of the Rat Pack) starred in several popular films, most notably Ocean's 11 (1960) and Robin and the 7 Hoods (1964). Ocean's 11 in particular starred Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. His successful music and screen career earned him numerous accolades, including 13 Grammy Awards and 3 Golden Globe Awards. In 1971, he was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for his philanthropic efforts. Tackhead-size stain on front and verso of cover page. Same stain touches the printed "t" in Sinatra's printed name on signature page. Otherwise, fine condition.
