Frank William Abagnale, Jr. (b. 1948) successfully impersonated an airline pilot, doctor, assistant attorney general and a history professor -- all before he was 18 years of age. He cashed over $2.5 million in forged checks and was known in 26 countries and all 50 U.S. states as "The Skywayman". The chase to catch him was the subject of the 2002 feature film Catch Me If You Can, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. The film was based on his 1980 book of the same name. Today, the former con artist lectures at the FBI's Financial Crimes Unit and runs his own financial fraud consulting business. Irregular cut. Tear of ¾x2 inches torn off interrupts book summary.
