work on the 1962 film My Geisha
Document signed: "Frank Westmore", in blue ink, 5x6½. Paystub for the week of February 6,
1961 to February 12, 1961. In the amount of 31,500 yen, which converts to $261.53.
Starring Shirley MacLaine and Yves Montand, My Geisha (1962) is a comedy about a
director who does not want his wife to star in his upcoming movie. Undeterred, she
concocts a clever scheme to get the part anyway. Frank Courtney Westmore (1923-1985)
was a makeup artist best remembered for his work on the following films: Hart to Hart
(1979), The Ten Commandments (1956) and Being There (1979). He was a member of
the famed Westmore family, known for introducing innovative makeup tricks and techniques
to the film industry. In 1972, Westmore won the Emmy for "Outstanding Achievement in
Makeup". Furthermore, he helped write a biography of the Westmore family titled The
Westmores of Hollywood (1976). Staple holes near top edge. Torn at center of top edge.
