FRANKIE AVALON - AUTOGRAPH 1988 - HFSID 78994
Sale Price $126.00
Frankie Avalon signs an 11x14 piece of paper with "Venus" in black ink in 1988.
Signature: "Venus!/Frankie Avalon/88", 11x14 piece of paper. Music and lyrics of "Venus" by Ed Marshall, recorded on Chancellor Records by Avalon. Unlike some of the heavily marketed "teen idols" who ruled youth-oriented American radio between Elvis and The Beatles, Frankie Avalon (born in 1939) had a real music background. His popularity peaked in 1959, when he had #1 hits "Venus" and "Why". While Avalon made several action movies, beginning with Guns of the Timberland (1960), he is best remembered for his Beach Party movies with Annette Funicello, beginning in 1963. Avalon still tours in "golden boy" revivals with Bobby Rydell and Fabian. "Togetherness", since covered by other artists, can be heard on several of Avalon's "best of" and "greatest hits" albums. Fine condition.
