FRANKIE AVALON - AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIBED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 285310
Price: $160.00
FRANKIE AVALON
B/w publicity photograph of Frankie Avalon wearing a dark collared
shirt with a white sweater
Inscribed photograph signed: "To Dennis/All the Best/Frankie
Avalon ". B/w, 8x10. Unlike some of the heavily marketed "teen idols" who
ruled youth-oriented American radio between Elvis and The Beatles, Avalon (born
in 1939) had a real music background. His popularity peaked in 1959, when he
had #1 hits "Venus" and "Why". While Avalon made several action movies,
beginning with Guns of the Timberland (1960), he is best remembered
for his Beach Party movies with Annette Funicello, beginning in 1963.
Avalon still tours in "golden boy" revivals with Bobby Rydell and Fabian.
Collectors stamp on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
