Contract signed: "Frankie Avalon" as Performer, 2p, 8½x11, front and verso. No place, 1965 January 7. "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract For Single Television Broadcast and For Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week" in which Frankie Avalon contracts with Roncom Productions, Inc. for his appearance on "Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall" to be videotaped at NBC TV New York in New York City on March 9, 1960. Avalon was to be paid $7,500 for his appearance as a "Guest Performer". Avalon has also written his telephone and social security numbers (blacked out on scan) beneath his signature. In 1976, he would also make appearances on the TV shows Combat! and Hullabaloo (three episodes) and star in a number of feature films: Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine, Sergeant Dead Head, How to Stuff a Wild Bikini, Ski Party, I'll Take Sweden and Beach Blanket Bingo. "Teen idol" Frankie Avalon (born Francis Avallon in 1939), who was a staple of the American pop scene between Elvis and The Beatles, recorded two No. 1 hits, "Venus" and "Why", in 1959, and charted six additional Top 10 singles and a Top 10 album. While Avalon made several action movies, beginning with Guns of the Timberland (1960), he is best remembered for his Beach Party movies with Annette Funicello, beginning in 1963. Avalon still tours in "golden boy" revivals with Bobby Rydell. Lightly creased not at signature. Paper clip impression and staple holes at upper margin. Overall, fine condition.
