FRANKLIN K. LANE. TLS: "Franklin K. Lane" as Wilson's Secretary of the Interior, 1p, 7x9. Washington, 1918 May 11. To Hon. John Barrett, Director General, Pan American Union, Washington. In full: "Perhaps you will find something of interest to you touching the wage situation, in the accompanying report [not present]." FRANKLIN K. LANE (1864-1921) was Wilson's Secretary of the Interior from 1913-1920. JOHN BARRETT (1866-1938) was U.S. Minister to Argentina (1903-1904), Panama (1904-1905) and Colombia (1905-1906) before serving as Director-General of the Pan-American Union (1906-1920). Penciled note at top indicates this letter was answered on May 20th. 1x3¾-inch shading at left blank border. Lightly creased.
