Index card signed by Oscar-nominated screenwright Fred F. Finklehoffe
Signature: "FF Finklehoffe". Pencil notations in unknown hand on verso. 5x3 card. Screen and playwright Finklehoffe (1910-1977) shared an Oscar nomination for writing the screenplay for Meet Me in St. Louis (1944). But he may be best known for co-writing the Broadway comedy Brother Rat (1936-1938), which was later adapted into a 1938 movie of the same name. (Finklehoffe later wrote a sequel to the movie, 1940's Brother Rat and a Baby). In all, he had writing credits on over 20 film and TV shows between 1938 and 1963, including a posthumous credit on 1978's My Boys and Good Boys. Finklehoffe was mostly a producer on Broadway, with seven producing credits between 1942 and 1957, including The Heiress (1947-1948) and Affairs of State (1950-1952). He also produced a few movies and TV shows, including The Egg and I (1947). Lightly toned and soiled. Paper clip impressions at top edge, which touches signature and top right corner. Lightly rounded, creased and worn corners. Otherwise in fine condition.
